I was in Seattle for a week, so I was not able to update much. On Wednesday, Channing did a Vodka bottle signing event in Hummelstown, PA. About 1000 people showed up, some even camped out in the parking lot a day before the event. I guess Hollywood stars rarely visited this town, so it was a big deal for many local people, esp. women. I think he will be on some period drama (Medici: Masters of Florence - The Magnificent) on Netflix. So I am looking foraward to that.

Just read that Jamie was cast in a new movie called Donnybrook. The movie is described as a backwoods version of “Fight Club meets True Romance” as it follows two men who try to get to the Donnybrook, a legendary backcountry bare-knuckle brawl where the winner gets $100,000. It is announced that Channing Tatum's faux Romanian cop show Comrade Detective is coming to Amazon Video on August 4th. The show was originally titled "Iron Fisting". To avoid confusion with Netflix's Iron Fist, now it is properly renamed as "Comrade Detective". By the way, in Chinese "Comrade" is a code name for gay men ( Read more... )

Since the second half of the movie is very different from the TV show and the original book, so I only compare the first 3 episodes of the 1977 TV show with the movie. PS, although the movie was released in 2011, it was filmed in 2009.

I posted links to all six episodes here. It looks dated. The actor who played Marcus was pretty, but Esca looked awful. Also I always have problems with Esca and Cottia in the original book. Esca is too obedient, Cottia is just a ungrateful little child who is shoehorned to be a love interest. I don't like the way she talks about her aunt and uncle ( Read more... )

It is reported that Director Doug Liman is going to make a Jumper TV series for YouTube Red (YouTube's subscription service). When I first read the news yesterday, I was excited because I was hoping Jamie Bell would return as Griffin. Other than the last season of Turn, Jamie does not have projects lined up for him.
